ROAD BOARDS.
LINCOLN. A meeting of this Board was hold at the office, Prebblcton, on Tuesday, the 7th inst. Present—Messrs Tosswill (chairman), Marchant, Leadley, and Maskrey. The minutes of the last meeting having been read and confirmed, Hie surveyor read his report, which was considered. The following correspondence was read : From the chairman of theTai Tapir school committee, informing the Board that the contractor for the footbridge had completed his contract, and requesting the Board to remit to him the grant in aid which had been promised by the Lincoln Road Board. The surveyor having stated that the work had been completed to his satisfaction, the Board decided to remit the sum as requested! From the Secretary for Public Works, informing the Board that the sum of £1051) 17s, being the amount due on contract for immigrants’ cottages, extra work, and architect’s fees, had been passed for payment, and would be paid in to the account of the Board. From the Springs Hoad Board, declining to accept the two Lincoln cottages as an exchange. In reply to a petition from D. Gibb and several residents near Shand’s Road, requesting the Board to form that portion of the Prebblcton and Waimakariri road between the Lincoln road and Shand’s road, the Board decided to accede to the petition and to call for tenders for the work.
In reply to a letter from William Annett, asking the Board to make him some allowance for repairs to the Tramway drain road, the Board decided that they could not grant his request.

A complaint havin" been made that rubbish was being deposited upon the Prebolctou and Templeton road opposite section 1423, the surveyor was instructed to call the attention of the occupier of the land in question to the circumstance, and request him to remove the obstruction.
The B >ard decided to call for tenders for the erection of Brcbble’s bridge (labor only). The pay sheet, amounting to £1485 15s Id, having been passed fur payment, tlm Board adjourned until Thursday, Uic (ith of August, at 2,30 p.m
