A CORRECTION.
To the Editor of the Globe. SIR,—I shall feel obliged if you will allow me space to correct an error which occurred in your report of a case heard in the Resident Magistrate's Court, on Saturday last— Proprietors of " Lyttelton Times " v W. Gourlay. I am stated as being "Manager of the 'Lyttelton Times.' " The inference to be drawn from this is, that I described myself as holding that position, whereas I did nothing of the kind. The Bench knew I was authorised to appear on behalf of the plaintiffs, so did not ask me what office I held. I shall be glad if you will publish this explanation, as I do not like be placed in the false position of appearing to assume a title which I have no right to. Mr Beeves is the vianmger, and I, like all others employed in the establishment, obey his-instructions. « Yours, &c, C. B. Briggs, Accountant. Barbadoes street, Christchurch, July 6th, 1864.
