Twenty-four candidates presented themselves, Of these we have placed six in the third class of certificated teachers, leaving the question of grade to be decided after proof of their ability to manage a school. The remainder, with the exception of one who is a pupil teacher, and does not seem to be qualified for a higher position, are classed as assistants. “ The subjoined lists gives the result of the examination. The third class masters are arranged in order of merit, and the mistresses in the same order. The assistants arc put alphabetically in the several classes.
