THREE VESSELS OP WAR ON SHORE, A NEPHEW OP THE EMPEROR OP RUSSIA ARRESTED POR STEALING. Auckland, June 27. The City of Adelaide arrived at ten last night with the San Francisco mail. The Mikado had not arrived at Kandavau until 10 a.ra. on the 2lst. She was detained lour days at San Francisco through the nonarrival of the Atlantic steamer, and then lost fifty-one hours between Honolulu and Kandavau. She has been repairing tubes for the last three days out under easy steam. The City of Adelaide received the New Zealand portion of the mails and cargo, and left on the morning of the 22nd. nery. The Tartar, with the outward mails, left Kandavau for San Francisco on the 14th, full of passengers and cargo. The City of Adelaide brings over 4000 packages. The Czar of Russia issued instructions granting permissions to all exiles, Poles to return home, except those guilty of assassination. , A collision between coal and passenger trains happened at Merthyr Tydvil, and seriously injured forty persons. President M 1 Mahon when receiving the German Ambassador, expressed a hope that the present friendly relations between France and Germany might long continue. It is reported that bitterness has arisen between the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Edinburgh, regarding the question of rank. A nephew of the Emperor of Russia was arrested at St Petersburg for stealing his mother’s diamonds. The Czar ordered legal proceedings to take their course. A conspiracy has been discovered at Kehokan, Russia. Sixteen persons implicated were executed. The appropriation of church property for State purposes in Italy continues. Ecclesiastical property to the value of over twenty millions sterling has been sold and gone into the public treasury. Additional miners’ strikes have caused a rise in the price of coal. Sothern, the actor, is playing at Chicago. He goes to Australia under an engagement for eight weeks, at 1000 dollars a night.
