The Maoii called Jeremiah Bob, who killed a Maori who had criminal intercourse with his wife Wangaroa, came to town to-day to deliver himself to the authorities. Borne negotiations have been going on between the Government and the tribes. It is supposed that the Governor’s visit to the north had some influence in leading the- natives to insist upon the murderer coming to Auckland. New Plymouth, June 20. Parris is negotiating for another large block of native land of between (10,000 and 100,000 acres. The native chief says the block will take two years to suivcy. Surveyors arc much wanted here. THIS PA 1 -S' TELE GJR AMS. Wellington, June 22. The Governor’s yacht Blanche, has just arrived with his Excellency. Arrived —Claud Hamilton and Ladybird. Both sail South at three. Auckland, June 22. A.B.P. Company’s new steamer Southern Cross, arrived from England, via Melbourne. She left the latter port on the tenth. Another attempt at incendiarism on Saturday night. A quantity of burning rags, saturated with kerosene, was found under the Catholic Institute, Wellington street. A soldier’s coat was among the material, which not burning, prevented the success of the attempt. The building is in the centre of a wooden block. If the fire had once caught, the loss must been extensive. Dunedin, June 22. A slight shock of earthquake was felt at seventeen minutes to six on Saturday morning.
