* GLOBE Office, June 20. The recent wet weather has kept the farmers at home and consequently no sales of grain in first hands are reported. Prices remain nominally at 4s 6d, but no absolute business has been done. Flour is much quieter, £ll 10s has been accepted for more than one parcel. Stocks are steadily accumulating, and we see little prospect of prices being maintained. Barley appears quite out of favor, there being no demand whatever. Oats continue to be quoted at 4s, and a few galea are reported at this figure. Stoeks how-

ever arc not heavy. Butter continues to be quoted at Is. Cheese is in good demand at 6d. Potatoes come forward very slowly at £3 ss. A fair average business has been done in the import markets during the past week. Stocks have been augmented by the arrival of the Fratclli Gaggino, from London on the 13th iust, with a full cargo of general merchandise. Building materials, cementseveral large parcels have been sold to arrive at 23s to 23s Gd per barrel, the demand for cement being very good. Galvanised iron, G.O.—We hear of sales of several parcels at £35 10s to £3G per ton. The demand for thiß article is not so great as was anticipated, hence low prices now ruling. Spirits — Henuessy's pale brandy is now held by importers, who ask lis per gallon. MarteU's dark commands 10s Gd to 10s 9d, other good brands arc coming in favor at advanced rates. Ileunessy's case is now quoted at 335. A moderate business has been done in JDKZ Geneva, at full rates, the market is now fairly stocked. WI rum commands ready sale at 4s Gd to ss, according to strength. Swaine Boord's case Old Tom is quoted at 14s Gd to 15s, bulk 5s 3d. Very little business has been doing in bottled ale and stout ; prices remain at onr last quotations. Sugars— At auction on Thursday, 650 pockets yellow counter Yarravillc sugar were offered, but owing to scarcity of attendance of the trade it was withdrawn, we hear that it is now under offer privately, at prices withheld. There is no difference in prices of Mamltius sugars as quoted last week. Tobacco meets with good demand. Sales of St Andrew's twist have been made at Is 8d i.b ; case tobacco, Is SJd, other good brands in equal proportion. Oilmcus' stores meet with the usual good sale. Considerable business has been done in Belmont sperm candles at lljcl.
