The drainage of mines agitations are on again. The Pumping Association is suing in Warden's Court for contributions from mines alleged to be benefitted- The first case called was against the City of London. The Pumping Association claims ,that their works drain the whole flat as well as'the hills. The Bright Smile Company claim a contribution from the claims joining it, and contend that they only drain the Waiokaraka mines. The consequence Js ftihatLthe; Association and Bright Smile are both claiming contributions from the same mines. A diabolical attempt to burn down the fine fine block of brick buildings, called Hobson's buildings, in Shortland stieet, was discovered last night. A man was observed to strike a match and light something under a doorway and then run away. On examination there was found a quantity of paper and kerosene in a blaze. The culprit is unknown.
