CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday, June 6. [Before C. C. Bowen, Esq., R.M.I DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Catherine Boyle, arrested by Constable Gash for drunkenness, was fined 20s, or 48 hours ; and Mary Maule, arrested by Constable Smith for a similar offence, and who had been previously before his Worship, was remanded until Monday for inquiries to be made relative to her mode of life. LYTTELTON. Thursday, June 4„ [Before W. Donald, Esq.-, B.M.] CIVIL CASES. Farr v D’Oyly, claim to recover £5 5a architect’s fees for inspecting and reporting on defendant’s house. Mr H. Nalder appeared for plaintiff. Mr D’Oyly appeared and stated that hia reason for not paying the claim was because he thought it excessive. The Bench after hearing the evidence of the plaintiff and Mr Ross, also an architect, gave judgment for plaintiff with costs. D, and C. G. Ross, v D’Oyly, claim £5 5s Mr Nalder for the plaintiff. This case being on similar grounds to last was admitted by the defendant and judgment given for full amount with costs. Heron v Hislop, claim £27. Mr Nalder for defendant. The Bench after hearing evidence nonsuited the plaintiff with costs. Saturday, June 6. [Before W. Donald, Esq., R.M.] DRUNK AND INCAPABLE. Edwin Connell, arrested by Constable Wallace, was charged with this offence. Accused, who was still suffering from the effects of drunkennes, was remanded for three days. OXFORD; Wednesday, June 3. [Before G. L, Hellish, Esq., R.M.,] BREACH OF TRESPASS OF CATTLE ORDINANCE. George Hathaway, Edward Gundry, Wm, Heywood, and J. Milligan, were each fined 5s and costs, for being the owners of cattle wandering at large in a public thoroughfare. CIVIL CASES. Wm. Morrison v. Obed. Hosegood, claim £1 11s, repayment of poundage of cattle ; judgment for defendant, with costs. Wm, Morrison v. J. Jiffkins, claim, £4 3s for poundage and damage caused by pigs ; judgment for defendant, with costs. Several other cases settled out of Court,
