Tararua, Captain Clark, arrived in harbor this morning at 7 o’clock from Wellington. She sails for Dunedin this evening. The p.s Paterson, Captain Mundle, arrived in harbor yesterday at 5.30 p.m from Wellington, She left Wellington at 7 a.m on the 4th ; owing to heavy weather had to anchor off Cape Campbell at 2 p.m, wind blowing strong S.W, with heavy sea ; left again at 9 p.m, the gale having abated, but the sea still running high until passing the Kaikoras, when the weather abated, and arrived as above, SHIP NORTHAMPTON FROM LONDON. This vessel commanded by Capt. Barclay, arrived in harbour this morning, after a passage of 68 days from land to land, and 72 days from Gravesend to anchorage. Captain Wood, pilot, going alongside the vessel found that sickness had occurred during the voyage, and there were still several persons sick on board—during the voyage there had been several cases of modified small pox, and one case of fever. The health officer, Dr Donald, and Mr March, Commissioner, visited the ship this morning. Mr March has kindly furnished the following report to our reporter. The ship left the Louden Docks on March 13th, and Gravesend on the evening of the 21st, having embaiked emigrants in the Docks. Sickness broke out soon after leaving. On April sth George Nigvam, single man, aged 19. died of typhus fever, after an illness of nine days. April 11—Beatrice Pilliett, aeed 4, died of dyseutry. April 14—Jonathan Wcrsfield, aged 20 months, infantile disease, April 30th—Agnes Roberts, 12 months, diarrhoea. May 3rd— Alfred Bentley, 22 months. May 26th—Jane Greenaway, aged 26, heart disease, May aotu, Margaret Jane Roberts, 10 mobths, infantile disease. Total, 7 deaths— 2 adults, 5 children. During the passage thirteen cases of modified small-pox occurred. At the present time there are three patients suffering from this disorder. The health of the passengers generally is good. No sickness occurred in the single girls compartment during the voyage. The convalescent immigrants will bo landed this afternoon, and (he others on Monday. A visit to the quarantine station was made, and everything was found to be in readiness. Mr March will take charge of any letters or parcels addressed to the immigrants, cither sent to him at the Immigration Office, Christchurch, or Harbor Office, Lyttelton
