The great want of a thoroughly Colonial Banking Institution for the whole lolony of New Zealand having been long elt, it has been determined by the Proviional Committee to supply the same by fiacing before the public the present careully considered scheme, with the full conLdence that it will meet with very general upport, 2nd. As a first step, it is proposed to offer o the people of this Colony one half of the lominal capital, or 200,000 shares, in fair apportions to each of the Provinces through>ut New Zealand, and on the basis of the ’espective populations of each Province, reding the other half to be disposed of hereifter, as the rapid progress of the Colony nay demand and shareholders may decide ; jut in no instance will any of the remaining shares be offered for sale out of the Colony pvithout having been first offered to the Colonial holders, nor will any but a New Zealand Register be kept. 3rd. It is intended that the Head Office if the Bank shall be in Dunedin, and that a Jeneral Manager of high professional standng shall be appointed to guide the operalions of the Bank ; and also that a Board of qualified Directors shall be elected from
