PAPANUI DISTRICT SCHOOL.
A meeting of this committee was held at the schoolroom on the 3rd instant, all the members being present except Mr Goodland. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The Board of Education having sanctioned the expenditure of the sum of £4O in the erection of two chimneys for the school, in the place of the stoves and flues —which are in an extremely dangerous condition—it was resolved that tenders be invited for the same. Also, that the chairman be requested to write to the Board, asking them to strike a rate for one-sixth of the cost towards the building of the chimneys.
