Globe Office, Tuesday, 4 p.m

A number of shares were submitted by Mr J, G. Hawkes, at his auction rooms, this morning, but as none of the bids reached the reserve price they were withdrawn.

Mr Charles Clarke’s monthly auction sale was held at Loe’s Hotel, Leeston, Friday, May 29th. The attendance as usual was large, and stock of all kind met with ready sale. We quote the following as prices realised under the hammer Cattle—About 100 head of mixed cattle were yarded, and fetched the following prices Fat cows, from £0 to £7; milch cows from £5 to £7 ; springers, £5 10s to £(i ;18 months steers. £0 10s to £-1 ; heifers, £-1 to £1 10s; calves, 20s to 255. Sheep—Store wethers, medium quality, 8s 9d ; wethers in fair condition, 7s. About 4.0 pigs various sizes were sold at satisfactory rates.
