SATURDAY, FEBRUARY, 15th

A programme of miscellaneous items will be broadcast by 1V A this evening. The Orchestral Octet, under Air. Erie "Waters, has included in its programme the .suite “Spanish Caprice” by Riinsky-Korsakov, and a selection from “Chu Chin Chow.” A new soprano to IYA, Miss Matty Youngson, will be singing. Miss Youngson has performed with great success in many leading city concerts. Other artists appearing on this programme are Air. Hartley AYnrburton (baritone) and Air. D. Flood (humorist) and Mir. Eric and Jack in piano and vocal novelties. One of the popular variety weekend programmes will lie presented by 2YA. The Melodio (Four will sing a number of new songs as wed as old favourites, solo and concerted. Oilier artists will be Mrs. Gladys Erlam , (one of whose songs will be the old time ditty 1 “Two Little Girls in Blue”), Mr. L. Beavis (steel guitar .items) and Air. AC. Hamilton (Humour). The 2YA Salon Orchestra under AD’. AL T. Dixon Will play appropriate music, among the items being “ftaliaiib” fan overture bv Thurban), a selection from “Popov” and dance novelties. Air. L. \V. Probert will play a bell solo with orchestral accomnan'men t. “Eventide at the Convent.” Messrs AY. Sneddon and 11. Oakes (cornet and trombone iresrectiveJy) will play a duet ‘(Excelsior.”

The proceedings connected with the official opening of Dunedin’s Town Hall this evening will be broadcast by both BY A and 4YA. Tbo building cost £80,003 and is a magnificent edifice. The organ is the one that was built for the Wembley Exhibition. It cost £30,000. There are roughly 3500 pipes, the largest being 38 feet in length and weighing half a ten. Dr. 4\ .G. Price (thus.
