Cricket enthusiasts were greatly disappointed when heavy l rain caused the postponement of the first day’s play in the final test match between New Zealand and the M.C.C. Although the wicket was covered, a certain amount of rain is bound to trickle through the protection, and the w'elect, il a start is possible to-morrow, is sure to be damp on the surface.
