She is auvised by her editor of too utter futility of trying to get a statement from Martin as all attempts to interview him met with failure. She sets out for the “Speakeasy Club”, which he usually visits.' Whilst there the light is m -progress, Ala!tm losing to Donovan. On Ins arrival Alice speaks to him but ho inrorms her he hates newspapers, and her journal in particular. Ho toils her something of liis life story and now he made his way in the world through the sacrifice of liis parents, in the early edition of the ‘ ‘Chronicle” Alice has the story piublislied. She again seeks Martin who, however, is still determined not to enter. the prize ring again. Delmont, 'Martin’s manager, asks her. to go to the races . and makes advances' to her which she repulses, and “Fuzzy” a. master musician employed at tlie club comes to her rescue. Seeking a means of - showing Martin, his manager’s duplicity she consents to. accompany him -to the . races and there Delmont is exposed, and'Martin goes back into training and meets Donovan, and this time wins themuch coveted championship, but not before Delmont again tries to j outwit him by getting Alice into 'his power. “Fuzzy”.in a fight with the gang gives his life - that Alice-may (escape. 'Bright touches of * humor (ire , intermingled with the story,? makum the picture an entertainment' that should not be missed. All-talkie featurettes will also.be shown. .
