Tire princess enjoyed the salute, hut was not sure whether it was a coincidence, so she walked back. Tire sentry again saluted, smacking his rifle sling smartly. lire princess decided that this was a magnificentgame, and again passed, receiving the honor.
She retraced her steps continually for 20 minutes, when the officer on the rounds arrived and discovered the sentry exhausted. The officer hurried off and found the nurse, whose arrival and subsequent inducement to the princess to find another game alone prevented tlie Guardsman's collapse.
