In a biting wind, with the aerodrome lit by a huge searchlight and enormous flares, the Now. Zealanders, Flying Officers Piper and Kaye took off at 6.30 o’clock this morning. They hone to reach Pisa to-day.- , PARIS, Feb. 9. Flying Officers Piper and Kaye arrived at Dijon at 12.50 o’clock. Bad weather delayed their departure till 2.53. They descended at Sathonay, near Lyons. (Received Feb. 10, 8.50 p.m) LONDON, Feb 10. Flying Officers Piper and Kaye thought out everything bearing upon the flight very carefully; if. delayed, they intend to make an effort _ to make up the time by night flying. They 'have a spare propel lor and have taken all possible precautions against failure.
