The. consumption of alcoholic liquors in New South Wales is falling appreciably, owing to depression and increased prices. lhe sale of beer during December was exactly 204.. ■575 gallons less than the corresponding month of 1928. The sales of spirits are hardly so pronounced, yet they are substantial enough to cause the liquor trade the utmost concern.
