CHAMPIONSHIPS AT WANGANUI LAMB IN GREAT FORM. WANGANUI, Jan. 29. The West Coast athletic championships opened in glorious weather today. The clubs represented were New Plymouth, Haweia, Marton, Wanganui and Pirates, the two last being Wanganui clubs. At the close of the afternoon session, Hawera held the arge margin of 80 points, the figures icing Hawera 575, Wanganui 29, Pirates 14, New Plymouth 2. .Features of . the proceedings were performances of R. Lamb (Victoria) in the 'cycling events, wherein he won he three mile and mile in spectacular style; Hunt. Hawera, who exceeded the Dominion standard in the javelin throw ; H. E. B. Newton, Wanganui, who won the 880 yards championship hi 2min., and G. Broad, Wanganui,
