“GOOD AND NAUGHTY.” It seems there are no limits to ..the versatility of that ravishing enchantress of the screen, Pula Negri, as all will testify who attend the opening performance of the Paramount picture, “Good and Naughty,’’ at the Fa bee to-day. In this rollicking film % t-vsion of Avery Hop wood's stage farce. “Naughty Cinderella,” the star gives one cf the most delightful and adroit serious-comedy portrayals that anyone might wish for. Great credit for the zest and spirit of the \ chicle must necessarily go to Malcolm St. Clair, Paramount’s .young genius who has directed five superlative comedy-dramas in a row, and praise must also go to Tom Aloore, leading man, and Ford Sterling, ace cu cnaiacter comedians. "Good and Daughy,” briefly explained, concerns the love tangles of a group of parsons whose social ratings range from the smart set of New York to the pugilistic blue book wherein 13 engraved the name of “Bad News” Smith. Alls? Negri has the role of a girl who neglects her personal appearance. while maintaiung a. secret love for her employer, Tom Aloore. J.t s only when he gets into a'dilemjifa which naturally follows his clandestine affair with a married woman, Hint Aliss Negri throws off the guise of an ugly duckling and artfully reveals herself as the dazzling creature die really is. Her motive, one may guess, is to extricate Aloore from his uncomfortable situation and win him for herself. Who pays the bill for the injured worker?
