• -THE TRANSCO-NTINENTAL LIMITED.” BIG RAILWAY SPECIAL. “The Transcontinental Limited, the new Chadwick Pictures Corporation railroad melodrama, which opens at Everybody's to-night, promises a rare treat for all lovers of tense, stirring drama and romance, fat Ross, who is well known for his many spectacular productions, directed the picture with a cast of several popuiur favorites. Johnnie Walker, who has been one of the screen’s leading stars since his unusual performance in “Over the Hill,” plays one of his best roles, that of the young soldier,
who is tern between duty and love. Eugenia Gilbert, a charming young brunette/ plays the leading j)art opposite him, as the daughter i f the engineer of the Transcontinental Limited. The role of the engineer, a most important part in the development of the story, is portrayed by that sterling actor, Alec B. rrun-
cis, a veteran of many successes. Other players, equally well-known, include Bruce Gordon, Eric Mayne, and Edith Yorke. The story of the play suggests a typical melodrama of ,tne old school, embellished with those spectacular incidents that are possible only to the screen. The wreck of the mile-a-minute liver, with its smashing cars and bursting engine, will stand cut as one of the most impressive scenes ever filmed. The usual pro-
gram of comedies and novelties will I be shown in conjunction with this j production, which promises to live up to its producers’ claim that it is really a “special” production.
