ITALY WANTS MORE t-.at'-TORY. / PLAIN STATEMENT BY MUSSOLINI. ROOM MUST BE~ FOUND FOR _ MORE ITALIANS. (United Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Received Jan. 24, 9 p.m.) LOiNnivjN, Jan. 24. Mussolini intervieAved by Mr Ashmead Bartleet, for the Daily Express, said the Fascist militia is now 285,060 enrolled men, but only 10,000 were permanently on duty under arms. The militia was absolutely untrainedl, and unequipped for foreign warfare. Italy has only 149,000 soldiers for the defence of her frontiers. It AA*as nonsense to talk of aggression. “There are noAV 42,000,000 Italians on our soil, in addition' to 10,060,000 overseas,” he said. ‘‘Room must bo found for more. Italy cannot expand in the west. Can Ave be blamed if Ave turn our eyes to the Orient Y I regard it as absolutely wrong to take colonies from Powers avlio have spent blood and money in doing pioneer work, but Italy is entitled to a share of the * unoccupied territory.”—A. and N.Z.OiA.
