According to t a message from Vancouver (8.C.) Alderman .James Adams, of Victoria, 8.C.. who managed the Canadian soccer team on the tour to Australia, has been appointed manager to the Canadian team to tour New Zealand.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
A Sun cable from London announces the death of Mr. Perceval Laudon. the well-known special correspondent in the South African, Thibet and Greek wars, also for the Royal visits to India and on other notable occasions. He was fiftyeight years of age.—A. and N.Z. C. A
A party of five local Rotarians will visit Palmerston North this week-end for the purpose of participating in a send-off to District Herbert, of Wellington, who is about to pay a visit to England. It was also announced at tho Rotary lunch yesterday tjiat an en masse invitation had been received by the local club from the sister club at Auckland in connection with the New Zealand Rotary Conference in the Queen City in March.
The chairman for the day at th'eV* Rotary lunch yesterday was RotariaiF t. IV rev Nolan, who recently returned from a visit to Britain.' In replying to a welcome extended to him Rotarian Nolan said that, whilst abroad, he had the privilege of attending a Rotary conference at Margate at which 2000 Rotarians wore in attendance. He intimated, amid applause, that he had acceded to a request by the president to address members at a later date on his Rotarian experiences abroad.
