Tins was an “off” morning at Riccarton and though all horses with engagements at the Canterbury Jockey ■Club’s meeting mere out, their tasks in most cases were light. A few showers of mini fell during the- morning. Inferno was given a working, gallop over a mile and moved freely. Enthusiasm went at a sound pace to the half-mile post and then sprinted home. She is in first-class fettle. All the New -Zealand Cup candidates were out but were restricted to half and three-quarter pace- work. The schooling barrier was open and was made good use of by trainers of young horses. Since li.is fine work out yesterday Realm lias come into favor for the Trotting Cup and if lie keeps rightuntil the day of the- race he will prove hard to beat. —Special.,
