CROPLEY COMMISSION.
FRESH CHARGES LAID
(Received Nov. 5, 10.45,p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 5. Mr. Breden, Controller of Assets, and the Lord Mayor, examined by the Oroploy Commission, detailed the negotiations by the Council and discussions regarding Cropley’s lease, and the subsequent developments arising out of Cropley’s allegations. The evidence threw little fresh light on the position. It indicated that they considered tho agreement with Cropley as endorsed by the Council was ip. good deal for both ratepayers and Croplov. Both would reap good profits from, the property, winch previously avus a non-paying proposition so far as the Council Avas concerned. Cabinet, as the result of certain information! in tho possession of the Attorney-General, decided to extend the scope of tho Cropley Commission. The Premier, while admitting that fresh charges liact been rii'acle., declined to disclose their nature.
