TEN MILLION NEARLY SUBSCRIBED IN FELL. SYDNEY, Nov. 4, Air Collins, si dietary to the Commonwealth Treasury, in a speech to members of the Sydney Stock Exchange, announced that the new Comnionvve.iltli loan of £10.3(1(1.lil'O which closed yesterday, had been noai ly subscribed in full. A striking feature of the present loan, Air (‘oilins said, was the fact that mo-
ney was coming from the peope lather than institutions. The average subscription was about C-iOO. There were’ only 22 subscriptions over £22,000. This was a fair indication of the iinineial strength ami prosperity of Australia. Only a few hundred thousand remain to be filled, if necessary the ranks will lake the unsubscribed portion.—U.LEA.
