ALLEGED CORRUPTION
(Received Nov, 3, 10.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 3.
The Commission inquiring into the Cropley allegations has resumed. Croppy lengthily detailed the alleged overtures on behalf of certain aidermen regarding the payment of £IOOO. Cross-examined, Cropley said that he considered the suggestion an insult and flatly refused to listen «.*> them. He denied ever telling anybody that there was £SOO in it for them. The evidence disclosed that Cropley had many interviews with the Lord Ma. T ,or and other Town Hall officials and Aldermen, regarding the renewal of his’ leases.
