United Press Association—Copyright. f (Received Nov. 3. II p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 2. , Large areas of country throughout England and Wales are flooded as a result of 111 ten hours’ continuous rain during the week-end. Severe damage is reported in the agricultural districts.

Floods in Wales, Shropshire, Devonshire, and Worcestershire isolated many farms and threaten heavy loss of stock.

The gale which reached seventy miles per hour velocity seriously affected coast-wise shipping.

HIGH TIDE IN THE SOMME

HUNDREDS OF HOUSES IN THE SEA. PARIS, Nov. 2. A gale in the Channel coincided with a particularly high tid* at the estuary of the Somme and the sea invaded eight thousand acres of land with the result that hundreds of houses are more, or less in the sea.
