BRITAIN’S TROUBLE WITH MEXICO. (Received Nov. 2, 11.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 31. General Plutarco Oalles, Presidentelect of Mexico, is visiting here. He was received by president C-oolidge ancl Mr Hughes. General Oalles informed pressmen that there was no enmity between Britain and Mexico. What unpleasantness bad occurred was due to the dishonesty, falsehood anti misrepresentation of one of Britain’s representatives in Mexico. He said that this did not refer to Mi Cummins.—Reuter.
SUBMARINE EXPLOSION NEAR JAPAN.
(Received The Central Meteorological Observatory reports a terrific submarine volcanic explosion neat Hatojuna on the Luchu group. The steamer Ahyako Maru sailing in the neighbourhood reports 'that the sea is muddy and boiling and that pieces of pumice are floating on the surface. ' ; ' '■ 'T*
