MINOR MATTERS DISCUSSED ■WELLINGTON, Nov. 1.
The second reading of the Native “Washing-Up” Bill was agreed to and the House went into committee on the measure. Ail clauses were agreed to and the Bill was reported, read ;v third time and passed. The committee resumed consideration- of the remaining clauses in the “Washing-Up” Bill. The clause constituting a committee of local bodies to decide as to safeguard in connection with the operation of the proposed Quay St. railway in. the City of Auckland vas struck out m response to opposition from the meml>er for Waitemata, whose district was affected. The remainder of the available clauses were agreed to and progress w as again reported. The following local Bills were passed:— Hauraki Plains County Council Empowering Bill, wish an amendment that the loans specified must be raised in terms of the Local Bodies Loans Act 1913.
Wellington City and Suburban Highways Construction and Hurt lload Amendment Bill.
Wanganui City Council Vesting and Empowering Bilk Considerable discussion took place on the Wellington City Milk Supply Amendment Bill and, at 10.10, the debate was ad;burned on tire motion the Hon. W. Kosworthy and the House immediately rose until 7.30 on Monday night.—P.A.
