The telegraphic chess match between Gisborne and le Arolui has been arranged for this evening, play to commence at 6.30 sharp. Ihe following are tho players selected, the first-named of each pair being the local player Schlichting v Haddock, Dow v Ken rick, AValter v Perrott, Taylor v McDonald, Thompson v AA r a"staff, A. Gleave v. Davney, Ritchie v Burton, Bull v Sweeney, Faram v Gibbs, Blackburn v Burrows, H. 'Li. Cleave v Gilchrist, and Burt v Russell, subject to adjustment. Reserve players for Gisborne : Somervell, Gardner, Fischback and Stichbury. Umpires: Messrs F. J. Rowley and C. lv. Smytlre. Air F. L. Konriek will represent Gisborne at Te Aroha. All tlie local representatives are requested to he at the Farmers’ Union office at 6.15 p.m.
