Ala-on Allard, chairman of directors of the Amalgamated 'Wireless (Australasia) Ltd.. informed shareholders that a claim for infringracrA of patent rights against the Nc-w Zealand Government would be taken up on receipt of full, information from New Zealand in regard to the legislation which empowered companies and others to carry or. broadcasting as Government agents. The New Zealand Government had made a most extraordinary departure from the practice r.r.d law of nations in regard* to patent rights and had repudiated what it had previously held out and for which it liad taken ires. _ Iswas one thing, he said, to negotiate for a price for the sale of a right to use their patent and another to establish a claim arxl figure for compensation for depreciation of property. Patentees the world over and financial circles generally would be astounded bv the action of the New Zealand Government. —U.P.A.
