The treatment of women in the New Hebrides was discussed yesterday at the Interstate/Conference oh the National Council ••'of Women of Australia, Mrs. Glencross said that women wero bought and sold as slaves under the condominium. Mrs. Morris suggested that Australian women might be thought Lo be throwing stones while they lived in a glass house. A resolution was agreed to that the conditions of women in the New Hebrides under the condominium he brought before the International Conference to he placed oir the agenda paper of the quinquennial conference so that influence might he used to better tli.e existing’ conditions. The French Consulate in Sydney would not discuss the allegations, beyond denying their truthfulness.
