The Republicans later held a meeting of protest at “the desecration of the graves of the dead, and the insulting presence of British soldiers in green uinforms/’ The Mail says that lie Y alera, prior to his arrest, addressed a meeting at Sligo. De Valera was arrested at Londonderry when entering St. Colombs to address a meeting in violation of tho notice served on him last week not to enter the northern area. Over 250 police were present in and around the hall to effect the arrest. —Sun.
THREATS AGAINST DE VALERA LONDON, Oct. 23. . De Valera was conveyed to prison in “Black Maria,” The crowd boohed him outside the station and there were some cries of “Put a bullet into Hm!” Only the presence of the police prevented De \ alera biug .IT 10 >_ bed.
