The Goldfields and Ali.-vs Committee has made amendments in the Alining Amendment Bill. Clause 5, which provides that business site and residence site licenses are not to he surrendered with n view to the acquisition? of a. mining privilege by another oerson, has been struck out, as has also the clause providing that the cost of collection of goldfields revenue is deducted before payment to local authorities entitled to receive the same. RAILWAY ACCIDENTS.
During the past year there wore 10 fatal, 7i serious and 1696 minor railway accidents. In 1923 there, were 14 "fatal, 29 serious and 1405 minor accidents. The figures show a big increase over those for 1921 and 1922, duo to the fact that there has been an increasing tendency among the employees to report all injuries however slight, as a precautionary measure in' connection with the Workers 5 ■Compensation Act should eomplicuvtions set in later. RAILWAY NIGHT TRAFFIC.
In all 2541 railway employees received payment at the night rate for last year, the cost to the department being £8125. RAILWAY TIME-TABLE.
The profit from the sale of the radway time-table-; last year was £743. Special. !.
