Tin, Palace Theatre will hold its regular Wednesday matinee to-day at 2, and also another matinee to-mor-row, the evening performance commencing at 7.30 each night. It is a big double feature bill, the two star attractions being Florence Vidor m the sensational society romance, “Woman, Wake Up,” and Lester Cuneo in the big thrilling and spectacular melodrama of the great West of America, ‘.Blue Blazes.” The supporting pictures on the bill are chosen for the interest and the laughter they contain, the whole making a splendid holiday bill. Amongst the supports is a remarkably funny Sunshine comedy and two excellent Gazette numbers. “Woman. Wake Up,” with its beautiful star, Florence Vidor, is a story that sets every heart tingling with emotion, and it is one of the most perfectly staged and produced drama of the year. The frocks worn by the principal characters amongst the ladies are the latest and smartest styles, costing over £IOOO for evening dresses alone. The story is a delightful one. A young maleflirt, who has practised . breaking hearts, meets a sweet and very domesticated young lady, falls deeply in love with' her and marries her in quick time, and then realises that a domesticated, even though very pretty and loving, girl is exactly the style of wife* he did not want. The girl on her part realises that the last man she would prefer is a. frivolous one. She does not try to mould him into her way, hut adopts quite another idea, and the result :s.happiness and constancy for ever. It as not only a sumptuous production ; it is a play to please everyone. “Blue Blazes” is a picture containing a cascade of spectacular feats of daring, and a thrilling love story, the action taking place, for the most part, in tlio Middle West of- America, where the primal passions are always uppermost. the loves and the hatreds unhidden, and revenge something to lie accomplished quickly. A storv packed with thrilling moments. The plan is at Muir’s.
