Ten thousand National Banner Leaguers, inaugurating the Republican election campaign, invaded Potsdam so far regarded as sacred to the junkers and marched in procession to a central square and denounced the Potsdam spirit. They dedicated two hundred banners for use m the campaign to counteract monarchism. Despite" threats of violence the Monarchist opposition was limited to throwing stink bombs from balconies.
