FORETOLD THAT THE FATHER’S WISH WOULD BE GRATIFIED.
The news that Princess Mary has given birth to a son was received with general rejoicing in Britain. The Princess was married to Viscount Lascelles in 1922, and their first child, George Henry Hubert, was born on February 7, 1923. The village prophetess at Knarcsborough, Yorks, where the hap-py event lias taken place, foretold that tlio wish of the father would be gratified, and her forecast lias been justified by the event. The Princess, who has been in good health, has enjoyed quiet walks in the grounds of Goldsborough Hall. . She was joined by the Queen on the 14th. of the- month — an event which raised expectation to the highest pitch. A trained nurse had arrived a few days earlier, and Dr. Edgecombe had been visiting the Princess daily; while Viscount Lasscellcs, who had been shooting in the 1 neighbouring country, has returned home early each day.
“GIVE ME GOLDSBOROUGH”
Master Hubert Lascelles, who is 18 months old,is a Londoner, having been born at Chesterfield House. On that occasion) the Princess is said to have exclaimed, “Oh, give me Goldsborough!” And on this occasion she has had lier wish. . Princess Mary, who was born iii Diamond Jubilee year, was 27 on 1 April 22.
