POVERTY BAY LAMB
CHANGE' TO ADVERTISE IN LONDON.
MEAT PRODUCERS’ BOARD MAKES AN OFFER;.
A chance to exhibit and advertise the quality of Poverty Bay lamb, which is regarded as the best in the Dominion, is offered to exhibitors in the lamb classes in the forthcoming Agricultural and Pastoral Show. That offer is contained in' the following letter from the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board to the secretary of the A. and P. Association, Air AY. Al. Bayly: ‘Tt has been the custom of your Association to include ini your schedule a class for fat lambs most suitable for export. After being judged on the show grounds these lambs are usually shipped Home to an agent with instructions to have them judged again in London and to be sold on account. “For the purpose of advertising our Dominion 1 lambs the Board’s London manager would be pleased to arrange for a special display of tho-e lambs, if they are suitable, either ons the Smithfield market or in oue of the departmental stores. “If desired by your Association the Board’s London manager would also arrange to have the: lambs judged in London and for the disposal of them through ordinary channels of trade. Full reports will bo sent along to your Association. The minimum number of lambs which would bo sent should hot be less than 25.”
It is stated that all arrangements can he made to send the lambs Home, provided the exhibitors at the Show will taka up the offer. It is a. splendid opportunity to advertise the Poverty Bay lamb in London, and even if the offer is not availed of this year it is probable that it will he adopted next year by some farmers.
