CHAMPION DAFFODILS
AUDIT OF 1U24 SHOWS
The appended audit cf champion blooms at various bulb shows held in the Dominion in 1024 lias been compiled by Mr W. H. Simpson, of Nelson, in the belief that it will be ol great interest to all daffodil growers. The oompder has had to depend on the reports of shows as they have appeared in the daily newspapers, and in a great many cases the*name of the exhibitor of a. champion bloom has boon given hut not the name c! the variety gaining the honor. The list, therefore, for this reason, is not as complete as could have been wished. Had the names of champion li'ooms been published in all cases the list would have- been very greatly extended, for a large number of show reports were pursued in which the informotion sought lor was hot given. Tbo outstanding feature of the audit is the remarkable success ef the old vanelv. Lord Roberts, which figured as champion at no fewer than 13 shows. The next best records are these of Renown and Great Wni'ley, each of which won three championships. Then fellow Michael. Victory, Felspar, Macehearcr, and Yellow Poppy. each with two cl lampion,sh’ps. Tim list of championship winners is as fol’ows:— A uck lan <1 —R ell own.
