MANGAPAPA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
LAST EVENING’S MEETING. The Alangapapa School Committor met last evening. Present: Messrs. H. ,1. Olay ton, G. Bartlett, J. Renwiek, Goldsmith. 11. Holmes, W- Duncan. awl W. J. McOliskio. The headmaster's report showed a roll total of 411 and an average attendance of 380.5, the percentage of attendance being 93.2. —-lleceivcc 1. It was decided to apply to the Board for two tanks to replace the old ones, which are. beyond repair. The Education Board wrote enclosing cheque for £2O. being grant towards cost of gravelling.—^Received. The Board wrote in regard to the committee's objection to the proposal to change the name of the school to “Gisborne North,” stating that after full consideration it had) been decided to adhere to the former decision.— cei ved. The Board wrote regarding the Committee’s application for an increased allowance, stating that consideration of the matter had been deferred fill next meeting.-—lt was decided to forward to the Board several unpaid accounts to show the Committee’s position in confirmation of the previous letter sent to the Board. The balance-sheet for the .recent concert was forwarded by the headmaster (Mr. Cole), showing a net profit of £l2 6s.—-Received. It was decided to forward to Mrs. Geo. .Smith a letter of thanks for her kind! invitation to the children to attend the Opera House pictures. Certain small repairs to .the swing and the blackboard were referred to the visiting committee, with power to act. ” Messrs. Renwiek and Holmes wore appointed a- visiting committee for the ensuing period.
