THE TOKOMAUU CLUB

Matters in connection with the rcgu IV,i* shoots of the Tokovnai'u Bay HeI'ence Rifle Club have boon rather disorganised lately owing principally to weather conditions, as has been- previously mentioned. Afr J. H. Reay. who Found that no could not attend the weekly practices owing to business reasons, did tin 4 next best thing towards assisting the present situation. He generously presented his rifle to the loeal elub for competition amongst, members wno did not possess a rifle of their own. I This competition took place on Tlmrnday and Saturday last. Shooting conditions were not altogether favorable, hut, even under these circumstances, some excellent scores were recorded. The rifle was eventually won by Mr John Wilson, his score off the rifle, being 31 out of 35 at 000 yards and 29 at 600. The second man turned up in Mr J. G. Graham with 25 at 500 yards and 25 at 600 yards. Tt tvas not possible, for all tbo members to participate in this competition, so * | sweep-stake was included. This also was won by Mr Wilson. On the second day the highest scores recorded for the season were put up at these ranges, when Messrs AV. Oates, iunior, and J. McMillan- each scored 33 at 500 yards and the latter nuid'o another 33 at 600. J. Wilson also again shot well, putting up 28 and 30 respectively. The following are the last day’s principal scores, the previous scores having been already sent through:
