(United Press Association—CoDyrieht.) (Received Julv 23, 8 p.m.) SYDNEY. July 23. The Assembly read a second time the City Railway Bill. Mr Cairn explained that the Government were adopting a. uniform electrified underground svstein which would meet all demands for the next 40 or 50 years with provision for expansion. Jt was also proposed, lasaid. to electrify the suburban railways. Tlie total estimated cost was £7,000,000, on which the annual interest would amount to £315,000.
