BRITAIN’S COAL PRICES.
THE LIMITATION BILL. KEEN DISCUSSION IN THE HOUSE. (United Press Association— Copyright.) (Received July 24, 12.40 a.in.) LONDON, July 23. In the House of Commons there was a warm die hate on coal price limitation, owing to Mr. Runciman’s refusal to include existing contracts in tlio Bill.
Critics urged that many contracts had been made in the last few days, and 70 per centum of these contracts would fee outside the Bill. The proposed legal price was actually above the present price. Mr. Runciman said the extra wages and other working expenses had increased the cost of coal fey 3s per ton since the outbreak of tbici war, and! every shilling added meant that the consumers were raying xU,250,000.
