FIERCE BATTLES OX SATURDAY

(Received Julv 19. 10.20 p.m.) PETRDGRAD. July 19. A communique states that the battle between the Vistula and the Bug attained extreme intensity on Saturday. \W repulsed the enemy's onset wun valor and tenacity and also repulsed, ten attacks in the Willrolaz district. Great, masses of Germans attachethe left bank of the Yipiz and succeeded in making progress in the Izdelino district, but our troops heroically repulsed the attacks. The enemy on -the ICth suffered very great losses in attacking positions on the river Volitza. where they left heaps of bodies in the front trenches. Heavy fighting is proceeding m other places on the river Bug. The enemy’s offensive against Takkiuu and Atlautz was continued.

Large bodies of cavalry are being employed by both combatants. The attack on Prasnyz, which was conducted on a wide front, forced us to concentrate on, a position nearer Da row.
