SEPARATION ALLOWANCES
NOW AVAILABLE FOR SOLDIERS’ WIVES. (Press Association Telegram.) WELLINGTON, July 19. The Government lias recently granted. a separation allowance of Is per day to the wives of members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. This allowance is payable from the Ist June to the wives of men who were attested prior to that date, and from tlie date -of ■ enlistment in all other eases. Before this allowance can be paid, a written application, accompanied by her marriage certificate, must he made by-the wife claiming it, such application to be addressed either to the headquarters ot the Defence Department at Auckland, Palmerston North, Christchurch, or Dunedin, or to the QuartermasterGeneral (4), Defence Department, Brannon Street, "Wellington. After being noted the marriage certificate will be returned. If the marriage certificate is not readily obtainable, a declaration before a Justice- of the Peace will be accepted. The allowance will be added to tlie p-ayriiou tvS made under filiotiTicnx orders at the end of every month.
