FIRES.

HOUSE GUTTED IN COBDF.X STREET. About 7 o’clock last evening an alarm of fire was sounded from the town boll, and the Brigade turned out smartly. The outbreak was in a six-roomed house on the corner or Gobden and Williams Streets, owned and occupied by Mr J. Stevenson. 'Hie fire is believed to have started in the front bedroom, and it spread rapidly throughout the house. The building was almost completely gutted. The furniture was insured for £IOO and the house for £250, but the offices are unknown.
