INDIAN ASPIRATIONS.
A remarkaele speech was made by the Indian progressiva loader, Air Gandhi, when unveiling at Bangalore a. memorial to the late Air Gokhale. Air Gandhi disclaimed credit for anything he had done, attributing his service to the influence of Air Gokluiie and urged them not to spoil their public men by too much demonstration, but to translate their spirit by appreciation into acts of sincere, service. As a nation they were charged . with being too demonstrative and lacking real business life. In a sense they had to plead guilty and see to it that their leaders acted on the political platform from the spiritual plane, and the day would then surely dawn when it will he possible to regard the British not as a conquering race hut as fellow countrymen. (Applause.) .
