GRAND SCOTTISH FAIR.
There was a fairly large attemta.m--yesterday afternoon at- the Scottish Fair now being held in the Scottish Hall. Great interest was taken. t>v ' the audience in the many .stalls one side shows, a fit! the elocution ce npetitiim for girls attracted much atten-
tion. There were thirteen entries ior thm competition, and the various competitors displayed a fine conception ot the piece* Ihe piece was lne t■ < ot Waterloo." and the judge. Air ytke*ington. had occasion to complimentthe different- competitors on their ta* 1 - duction. etc. There were four recalls for this class. Misses Lind Hooper. Fsma Wilkes. \ era AA ilhs, and Ruby Nicholas. ■\t the eveninn session there was a very large attendance, and the girls elocutionary class was finished, resulting in the following; Esnia AA dkes 115, Enid Hooper 114, Ruby Nieho.as 113! and Vera Willis 112. As will be seen, the marks were very close, and it was a matter of extreme difficulty for the judge to single out the winner The other competition unis physical drill for girls This class jvlsoi was closely con touted, i*ne li^nli suits being; Alaugapapa, Standard o, SI• and Alaugapapa Standard o, fcUIn addition to the competition classes there was a shooting gailery ami a ping pong tournament.
