MORE ROLLING STOCK TO BE PROVIDED. At yesterday s meeting of the Chamber the follotyum letter was read from Mr E. A- Hi■' > ■ General Manager of New Zeaiam, Railways: “With reference to your letter April 22nd urging that addition.!. rolling stock and a more po'vori .«• locomotive be provided for tne l>erne section, 1 have the home o> direction of the Minister qt Ha' ways, to inform yen that u:>trm - tious have been givcir for ton slim e trucks and ten double rimin'r “s----gons and a more powerin'! loeoni.. ip . to be added to the stock on t:uGisborne section in the course ot t ’’ next few months.” The addition of this rolling stock should considerably relieve the congestion that occurs annually on t; •' section.
